I'm just thinking of GW2 as a Massive upgrade to GW1. I'll even wager that we'll be transferring a tidy bit of content via HoM, contrary to what was said a year back. HoM and GW1 should be right along side GW2 when the marketing begins. This will be the best way to drag all the current fans into the new game, as well as gain new customers.

Not only that but it may actually promote new players for GW1. If they read a GW2 box that says something like "those that played and achieved in GW1 will have their characters immortalized and be rewarded in GW2!" I don't know about others but if I read that, and wasn't already playing GW1, I'd buy it.

Judging from the increasing poor decisions A-Net has made over the years (e.g. lootscaling), I'm guessing GW2 will be mediocre at best. Also with high expectations come big disappointments. Also titles/vanquishing/lootscaling has made Guild Wars into Grind Wars for me so if they're continueing amongst those lines, no thanks. For all these reasons I'm not anticipating GW2 like most of you and most like won't buy it.

Not really looking forward to the non instanced areas very much. But as long as they have a varied amount of pvp, more than world pvp and guild battles, that should make up for it.

So long as they stick with the casual player friendly, not totally focused on leveling and leet gear, I'll be getting it the day it's released.

To be honest though, I kinda hope it takes a while for most of the community to convert across, I preferred GW1 when it first came out and the community was much smaller. I got the general impression the community was alot more friendly/open back then.
